Foreign Misadventures

Welcome everyone, to my new blog site. I had initially created this for showcasing some pictures of my travels. But I am considering some sort of weekly entry. A sort of "What I did on my summer vacation" deal, just my experiences of the week. I realize that no one will read it but my parents and even they will become bored, but hey, a little ego massage never hurt anyone :)

Praha Cont'd

I am sorry to have been so remiss in my posting. So here are my excuses, being home in Canada I was distant from my computer with its pictures and when I returned I had essays to finish (Thank you sister mine for...prompting me) as well as aiding Stacey and Andrew in their move into the new digs.

So that aside, everything jim dandy? I ask this seriously and please tell me if they are not. I will continue with some pics from Prague if that suits everyone. Cool? cool. I will make this update twice as large to cover the shortfalls of the past weeks.

This is the Charles IV bridge. Lined with statues of Martyrs and Saints it is quite impressive, provided you avoid the many crowding people. It is sort of the one site not to miss in Praha. i quite enjoyed it as I discovered the patron saint for...well my family really.

Here he is, St. Ivo...the patron saint of lawyers. And no word of a lie, the people reaching up to him are identified, at least in Andrew's guide book, as prospective clients. They are quite big on statues in Praha, you find them all about you without even seeingi them.

Here we find St.George and his pet dragon, which I just happened to spy above a street corner. Now I know that the Catholic church is currently...disputing? poor old George and whether he really existed (His modern day copy is on Celebrity Big Brother as I write, for those of you in Britain). I offer to the church a new candidate, also British, and with a pose already set.

Here he is, Saint Andrew, complete with resplendent red (Though I still say purple) hair. He could be the saint of...frugal expenditures? and hoarding, definitetly hoarding. And of course the most important challenge he faced, taming my sister.

Here they are seen skipping down some winding stone stairs. They have an awful lot of energy after just climbing them, it was bloody long, I assure you. But back to Praha. As I stated earlier there are countless sites to see and I must bring some more to your attentions.

Here we go, this is the Astrolobe clock, (Bloody look these things up, I am not a historian or anything foolish like that). Like my previous adventures on this blog to tall things, I once again felt the need to climb to the top (Some latent male issue I expect).

This is photo from the Museum of Communism. I show this for two reasons, Firstly I find this woman to be so attractive, she is now the background on my computer. Second, if you ever visit the museum, be sure the note its surrondings. For the Museum of Communism is located across from Benettons (A large line of clothing stores) and above Mcdonalds. I do hope that some of you see the irony. please.

Ahh Venice...quick a free kiss or one Czech Kroner to both which Actor and Film this line was delivered in. But no this is not Venice, but a view off of one side of the Charles IV bridge.

I was going to include so much more, and I will, this coming Sunday, but I am so bloody tired, I have to fall into bed. I hope you have been entertained, always my intention. Night, A B
